Galliford Try is a housebuilding and construction group which uses a hybrid model of housebuilding and construction. Their integrated service offers seamless solutions for clients with one set of values and confidence in delivery. They are a leading UK construction business listed on the London Stock Exchange and a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index. Galliford Try was created in 2000 through the merger of Try Group plc and Galliford plc, but their roots date back to 1916, originally a steamroller hire business, then as as a civil engineering business, finally entering the private housing market in 1973. The Company acquired Morrison Construction in 2006 and Kendall Cross in 2007. Currently the company is organised as a number of divisions: Building, Infrastructure, PPP investments, Housebuilding, Affordable housing & regeneration, Social Housing Responsive and Planned Maintenance; and Facilities Management. They have been responsible for a number of major projects including the Centre Court roof at Wimbledon and the restoration of the St. Pancras Renaissance London Hotel.
